IP Address Lookup
Instantly see your public IP address. Look up any IP for geolocation, ISP, ASN, and timezone information.
🌍 What is IP Geolocation?
IP geolocation maps an IP address to an approximate physical location using databases that track IP allocation. Accuracy varies: country is ~99% accurate, city is ~70–80%.
🕵️ VPN & Proxy Detection
VPNs replace your real IP with one from a datacenter. Geolocation will show the VPN server's location, not yours — useful for privacy but also how websites detect VPN users.
🔢 IPv4 vs IPv6
IPv4 uses 32-bit addresses (like 192.168.1.1) with ~4.3 billion possible IPs. IPv6 uses 128-bit addresses for an effectively unlimited pool. Most ISPs now support both.
IP Lookup — FAQ
Why does my IP location show the wrong city?
IP geolocation is approximate. Your ISP routes traffic through regional hubs, so the detected city may be the nearest major exchange or datacenter — not where you physically are. VPN users will see the VPN server's location.
What is an ASN?
An Autonomous System Number (ASN) identifies a network operated by a single organization under a consistent routing policy — typically an ISP, hosting company, or large enterprise. For example, AS15169 is Google's ASN.
Can websites see my IP address?
Yes — every website you visit can see your public IP. It's a fundamental part of how the internet works. To hide it, use a VPN or Tor, which replace your IP with one from their network.
What's the difference between public and private IP?
Your private IP (like 192.168.x.x) is assigned by your home router and only visible on your local network. Your public IP is assigned by your ISP and visible to the rest of the internet — this is what this tool shows.
